Ugh, that TED talk really bothers me, and I think it just shows the problematic nature Valentine’s Day can sometimes have - of assuming everyone either has or wants romantic relationships. I like the idea of Valentine’s Day, celebrating love, but not the romantic tone it typically takes in the mainstream. I think this is a great example of how many people see romantic relationships as “higher” than anything else.
